HELP! - What animal track is this!

My favorite coon dog was an old Bluetick named Blue. That ol boy could tree a coon and call him by name!

Here we go. I once went frog gigging at a pond that must have had a million frogs in it. When I shined my flashlight across this pond all I could see was the blur of frog eyeballs. We were exhausted by the time we rowed our boat across this pond. The friction of rowing of the boat over the millions of frog heads dragging on the bottom of the boat was just too much for us.

Y'all are killing me.

#1 - Maybe and perhaps it is a large dog. I did also see some odd tire tracks, and YES a stray hunter might have entered the gate and turned his truck around, and maybe his hunting dog jumed out on my property and headed south on the fire road while the hunter turned his truck around due to the "NO TRESSPASSING" signs. This is a strong maybe.

#2 - I am now suspicious that the VERY LARGE coyote I saw, mid-day in April, in by back yard (he looked twice the sixe of the Yote I saw in Dec when I was hunting) was a wolf, wolf/yote, CoyDog, etc. His print could easily have been that size.

I am going to keep an eye out for more tracks, and get my game cam's up so maybe I can see something that is moving around like that.

I still need to determine if...

A - I need to Kill something because it is a threat to livestock, children, ect.
B - I need to find a source of silver plated hatchets to cut the heads off of Zombie Werewolves before they eat all our brains!!!!!!

I would wait for a fresh snow and track it./QUOTE]

What happens if you find it and it's not friendly?:D

When you find it you may find yourself yelling to your friend to just shoot anywhere amongst us 'cause one of us needs some relief ! Anyone remember the old Jerry Clower tape....where 2 fellas were coon hunting and one climbed up the tree after the Coon and there was screaming and growling and the fella yelled down...shoot up here..and his his friend said...I can't , I might hit you, the fella says...That's OK....Just shoot up here anywhere ...One of us needs some relief....

Coyote tracks are more oval shaped and the nail marks left are less prominent than those of dogs. Coyote tracks are more uniform in size while dog tracks will vary in size according to size and weight of the dog species. Coyote tracks tend to follow a straighter line and the rear tracks follow directly in line with or on top of front tracks. A dog's rear tracks are normally slightly to one side of the front tracks.

One coyote no biggy however they mated with the wolf so now they run in packs. I live in eastern Canada and a pack of these mixed breeds killed 3 people over the last two years and have attempted an attack on several other people.

Take care if you see multiple tracks.

Jerry Clower can make you split a gut ... the tail of tresspassing coon dog and I believe my favorite is the lad who talks his dad into money to teach the dog to talk, read and write.

Moss .. get the camera set up, the gun loaded and be ready for anything ... everyone is trying to ID this for you.

Coon dogs, mules and a good UKC hunt can sure get the truth out of a bunch of country boy's.

Hey Moss, just wrap yourself in bacon and wonder into the woods, you'll know almost right away what is nearby.

Here's a couple pics of coyotes we had on our place this summer. Definitely these would not be big enough for a track like you showed us. These were about 150' from our front door. I have had em' walk through within 20' feet of the house. They have not been a pest so I haven't shot any. I really don't need to waist my ammo as there are a lot of farmers around here who shoot em' anyway. Haven't seen this pair in months so I imagine they were killed by someone.
