I have a Lincoln SP-180T wire feed @220 and have used with .035 flux core wire for farm equipment outside. Having become more proficient, I'm ready to graduate to MIG inside and set up for 75/25 argon. I weld all-around things in the 1/16" - 3/16" range as well as some smaller but thicker things.
Question is, should I generally use .025 or .030 wire, doesn't it matter much or should I keep both on hand?

Keep Both sizes. The 180T is really 130 amps and runs .030 very nice up to and beyond 3/8" Plate. The .025 is your sheet metal wire. Unless you never fix anything thin walled like body work or lawn mowers etc.
