Property Line Hunters

I think also what way the stand is faceing has a lot to do with it. You can be on your fence line, but make sure your shooting into your property. Heck I dont care if I have one stand on the side of a big tree that shares my fence line and my neighbor has one on the other, as long as the bullet says on his property and mine does the same.
I have a problem with stands that have their backs to the neighbors property and yet have a clear line of sight into the shooting land I took all summer to cut and replant with no till.
Lets face it, with all the taxes we pay we should be able to enjoy our property without someone else impacting it. Its madding when people hunt your property after you go through the trouble of improving it.
I guess since I hunt archery I am more annoyed by the constant drive and push method. Sit in the stand for a while and see whats going on before you decide its 9am and I didnt see anything on the first day so I need to put a drive on.

Moth balls, coyote urine, your own urine, will deter deer. I would not broadcast this over a large area, just piss on the tree stand or tree he's hunting in every chance you get. This will keep the deer away from his stand but he's still going to shoot deer on your property if your not there.

The best deer deterent from what I 've been told is "Redneck Urine". I've heard the alchohol content in it and generations of dna related inbreeding will make deer run to the next county. Also I've been told its more effective than Roundup on weeds just don't get it on the paint on your tractor or plastic parts like on dash or fenders.

Deer Season - As a hunter I love it. As a land owner I hate it.

I have 170 unposted acres. Hunters welcome - to a point. But I get guys who come in and leave trash, cut trees, make 4 wheeler trails, put up stands w/o permission, you name it. This year a guy came in and cut about a acre of softwood regen so he could see into a hemlock swamp.

Trouble is most of these guys have nothing to loose and would have even more fun being revengeful if you go after them. So for the most part I ignor it or just let them know gently that I am upset by what they did. I want to enjoy my own hunting and not have to worry about what some jerk is doing.

We had an issue a few years ago with an aquaintence (not gonna say a friend) of a neighbor setting up an on ground camoflage blind on the neighbor's property. However, the way that spot lays, it was about 20 feet from my property line, about 50 feet from my metal building (building is 25 feet on my side of the line) and only about 150 or so feet from my house.

I did some checking, and there is a restriction in Kentucky on setting up a blind or a deer stand within certain distances from buildings, and even a larger distance from residences. I also thought there was a limit on distance to property line, but I am not sure about that one. This has five or six years ago, and I can't recall details.

I don't recall the exact distances, as this neighbor has since decided to only let a select few hunt this property (not this character), and we have not had that problem since. Might be worth checking game and hunting regs in Missouri for similar controls.

Been there, thought about it.
But when I pass on I don't want to spend eternity with the devil or any of his associates. :D

As a hunter with no land owned to hunt off, I say Thanx, it's the generous landowners like you that give us the priveledge to hunt on your land, and I say hats off to you guys...........to the so-called (slob ) hunters and litter-bugs that wreck your land I wish we could have a hunting season on them.....they just give us gratefull ones a black-eye when I hear of such stories.....

Thanx again....

Sorry you guys have to put up with those butt-heads

There aren't to many hunters that will pass on a good deer just cause he's standing on the wrong side of the fence. They will tell you "the deer jumped the fence after I shot it", unless the deer is head shot or you saw it get shot, you can't really dispute the claim.

That's really sad.

I have the same issue with hunters, my driveway is long so they drive in see the house then turnaround on top of my christmas trees. Or they are behind my house at 9:30 at night with flashlights and wonder why I call police. I have a couple hundred acres and am tired of the trash left behind or the trails cut. If I did it in their subdivision they would be pissed but on my property it is ok because it isn't in the city. Most of them have a4wd pickup and live on 1/8 acre. Me. 200 acres and a honda civic, 50 years on the same property.
