While sitting on a level surface, with the 3pt. hitch in the full down position what should the optimum distance be from the ground to the center of the lift eyes in the lower lift arms?
Thanks

whistlepig nailed it...well, as long as they aren't dragging on the ground.

Why do you ask?

WP and Roy are correct, for most situations.

The only exception that I've found is for my post hole digger. I have to adjust the lift arms as high as possible to lift the auger off the ground.

I've read of similar situations (on TBN) in which a small CUT or SubCUT couldn't lift high enough for some implements...

Naw, I disagree with you all, Ive never had an attachment that wouldnt go down far enough,, but have had several that wont go high enough, some tractors might be different tho, but my money goes on raise um up Eric

What make and model tractor and make and model of the implement that you are trying to use? I've seen many OPs using or trying to use implements that aren't made to work properly or safely with their tractor.

For me it depends on what I will be using on the 3 pt. hitch. I adjust the arms so the implement clears the ground with room to spare when the tractor is moving. Not all of my equipement has their connection points at the same distance from the ground.

Take Ed's advice and adjust your hitch geometry as required by conditions and the particular implement you need to hitch.
