so i was being cheap and was putting a ford starter solinoid to use for my glow plugs on and off and took instrament panel out where i could put the toogle switch in the dash.So that was no problem, unhooked the glow plug wire taped it off, my cheap fix worked and put everything back together now my tractor wont shut off.I got the power off the starter for the sol. to work, dont think thats the problem ,took dash back apart dont see anything i knocked loose, anybody got any ideas what happend?the tractor is a L3710 kabota

Shouldn't be that hard to trace--there's a solenoid that keeps the fuel going when the key is on. Trace that back to the switch to find the faulty component. first thing to check is the solenoid itself and the linkage--make sure it's not stuck in the open position.

Actually there are 2 different types of solenoids used...
The first type is a fuel shut OFF solenoid... This id what, I think, you have... It has 2 Wires...

The second type is a Fuel Hold ON solenoid... Don't think think is your type... It has 3 Wires...

The first type has No power to it Untill you turn the key OFF, then It energizes for a few seconds to Pull the fuel shut off... then removes power...

The Second type applies power to Turn the Fuel ON... and continues to HOLD the power ON untill the key is turned OFF... (again, I DON"T think this is Your solenoid)

I think your tractor has the first type, It's the most common... and you can easily tell just by checking if it has 2 OR 3 wires... Obviously they are wired different, so post back with the type you have... Easy to track the problem, Once you know what type ... KennyV

the solinoid has just one wire i unpluged the plug going to sol it has power for a few seconds after you shut the swich off i jumped power to the sol and it works so everything seems to be working rite but it never has done this untill i messed with the panel. but it is the type that has power when u shut the key off but it still wont pull the sol in

Have you checked wit a multimeter to see if power is actually going to the solenoid when you turn the key off? If it has power going to it the solenoid is defective. It could be just a coincidence.

This is the answer......... the 3710 shuts off fuel this way, as well as a manual fuel shut off "pull". What year is your 3710, that it does not have the fuel shut off pull?

it does have power for a about 10 seconds after u cut the switch off ,but it wont pull in.i can unplug it and jump strait power to the sol and it will pull in thats what got me puzzled
