What is the most useless piece of equipment

I have equipment that I havnt used in yrs. I have spare parts or system components for some of that equipment that I have never used. There are bolts in the bin that have been there a long time unused. None of these things is useless because they have specific design functions that are useful awaiting employment when needed. The only thing I have that is useless is the stump bucket. It cannot function for the purpose intended or any remotely related purpose without major rework/modification. Right now it is a piece of expensive scrap metal sitting on the ground. Killing grass and being a source of deadweight are the highest functions at which it can excel. Thats as close to useless as it comes.

Excellent post---we all probably have a great deal of 'Useless" stuff sitting around. I have a pair of nearly new (mileage wise) Honda ATV's that probably get less than 40-50 miles a year put on them. Plus the trailer I purchased to haul them around, and the winches on both, the plow blade, the toolbox, and service manual. If I never used them I would call them 'unused".

For me it's my 500gal. fuel tank what was I thinking, cost to much to fill, takes over a year to use it all, went back to 5gal cans

I haven't read the whole thread but it would seem that the most useless piece of equipment would be the one that is never used - whatever it is.

What is useless for one may be essential for another.

I believe it has been implied ... however applying uneeded and unused as useless is a re write of the language. Constant diffusion of meaning happens too easily and is to be avoided. If not, over time it becomes tedious to accurately express anything.

I hope my back blade isn't going to be my most useless piece of equipment this winter... I can't turn it to the maximum angle as it hits the rear tire so i'm not sure how well the snow will slide off of it.
I might endup doing 3 passes, 1 to each side with the blade and one down the middle with the bucket to clean up the spoilage. Maybe I should wax it!
