Good morning. It is 45 and raining here. First day of deer (rifle) and have been hearing some shooting. Can't imagine too many people out there in this miserable weather. Schools are closed till tomorrow due to so many kids taking opening day off anyway. Have a good week all.

So, it's cold, dry and still in N. Texas this morning as kids go back to school after the T-day break.

We have had years when it snowed before Halloween, and pretty much stayed cold until March. A few years back, our last frost was June 4. The weather guys were saying that this winter would be snowier and colder than normal. I guess they aren't always right.

Here in mid Michigan, between the lakes, we often go a week at a time without seeing the sun. I read years back, that Flint, about 50 miles away from here, had the least sun of any city of it's size in the continental US.

I grew up in Portland, OR and felt like I would go MONTHS without seeing the sun in Dec. to Mar. timeframe.

There was a joke round about mid-June "Q: What's that big orange UFO in he sky!!!! A: The SUN!"

Ready for my second cup of coffee. 36 degrees this morning. Heading to low 40's with lots of rain. Got to get tractor and snow-blower back in there normal parking places before snow starts to fall later tonight.

31 here, rained most of last night and the forecast calls for the same dreary, overcast climate for the next few days. Oh well I am grateful for what was probably the mildest fall we have had in close to 25 years.

60 Degrees. We are already at the high for the day. 70% chance of rain so it will get wet today, but then it will be dry all but one of the next 9 days according to forecast.

Maybe I can get started on the temporary horse fence...

Up at 0450, I'm way past needing my 2nd cup of joe...

I've been trying to change my "S" Corp from NAICS "Science & Technical Consulting" to something forestry/agriculture related and cannot find the right code.

Hmmm...
