Hi everyone!
You have a real newbie here, my first forum ever. It took a while just to find the 'post a new thread' icon. First off let me thank all other posters. You have already saved me from making quite a few mistakes. I know the value of time and my goal is to be able to repay someday, by giving some of my time back to the community.
My search for a tractor started after hurricane Isabelle downed dozens of trees on my property. After kicking some tires, I realized I was a complete idiot about what tractor I wanted and how to determine its value, so I started doing some research and ended up here. I don't recall exactly why, but somehow I started reading the Yanmar forum and fell down the rabbit hole into Yannyville. So for the last couple of months I have been reading the posts in reverse order, visiting all the recommended links and picking out my model. Well, as you yannyvites know, the only way to get a good yanny in the northeast (and mid-Atlantic) is to pry someone's cold dead fingers off of the steering wheel, so I was facing some steep travel expenses and shipping charges. With my deadline looming, a local John Deere 950 came up for sale meeting all my specs, and I recalled some wise words from a poster (forgive my short term memory loss and not remembering your name) which amounted to not being so focused on the trees that you can't see the forest. So I pulled the trigger. Not a yanny, but almost.
