That sucks;every time I fire mine up, I hold my breath. Seems to me there are way too many Kioti injection pumps sh!$$!^& the bed :(
It's not just the Kiotis that are loosing pumps ..... earlier Ford, Chevy and Dodge pickups are loosing them too if the owners are not adding lubricity to ULSD diesel fuel ..... I doubt that ANY diesels made before 2006 will live at ULSD's mandated 15 ppm sulphur content without adding lubricity.

Most of the Kioti pump failures seem to be rack related, not the pumps ability to supply the injectors fuel. Additives have no effect on this issue

Do the majority of rack failures result from fracture or wear?

Most of the posts I've seen reference injector pump failure have been a catastrophic failure of the rack and/or associated parts. A few instances of solonoid failure on those so equipped, but mostly mechanical failure of the rack

Dirt hauler- are you getting good flow to the injector pump itself?
Normally when the injector pump goes they either don't fire up, or run wide open, passed governor.
Might be a bad lift pump.

BTI

I bought my CK30 new in Feb. '06. I my first thoughts when this happened was the "lift pump" so I ordered a new one and is still sitting here in the box after being told that you could bypass it to check the injector pump by gravity feeding fuel to it......did that, nothing! Also was told the "lift pump" only puts out about 12 psi(?) or less, creates more of a vacuum from the tank than pressure to the pump. Also checked the fuel solenoid, works fine. Checked fuel return line, as suggested, it's O.K.
So I'm sure this cheap knock off of a Bosch injector pump is junk..........Merry Christmas to me!

Been using Red-Line 85+ additive which raises the cetane number and adds lubrication to our states' "over refined" fuel. Wait till they add EGR to these tractors! coming soon....tier IV.

So these failures could be from a lack of internal lubrication of the pump resulting in higher loading of the rack or from inadequate design and/or material selection and/or manufacturing process?

That's what I'm thinkin', but, there shouldn't be sufficient stresses on the rack, due to inadequate lubrication, to cause these failures:thumbsup: My thought is inferior materials used in the manufacture of the components; even being a Bosch unit, I don't know if these are "off-the-shelf" pumps or if they're manufactured to Daedong's specs by Bosch

Has anyone of you ever tested the strength of the metal, or is seals? This many seems to be a design problem or metal? We had some Cummins pumps fail from lack of lubrication, specs were too tight....Just wonderin??

I was told my my dealer that early kiotis used a gear in the pump that was too brittle.

My ck25 is a 2006. Pump failed at 300 hours. Wasn't using additive before repair. Started using power service immediately after. I'm now at about 480 hours.

So far the 2 with a pump failure that replyed with a year are a 2006
