The 7040 has been a great tractor for us,we basically do everything you mentioned with ours but bale hay.Definely get the wheels loaded or weights,as for the 8F and 8R I dont ever remember saying man I wish I had a different gear. I do agree if you are thinkng about spending the extra money on the NH,I would move up to the 8540.

I haven't inked the deal yet... but as it stands a new M7040 with cab, radial front and rear tires, M20 loader, lists out just under $54000.00. CAD

Dealer includes loaded rear tires AND cast weights... :thumbsup:

I am very happy with my dealer! He's been very helpful in determining what I really need... not just selling me the farm! his first offer was very reasonable!

I will be finalizing the deal this coming week!!! :licking:

I did take advantage of the wheel time offered in a new 7040 as closely equipped to what I want... it was quite reassuring!
I am very impressed with the visibility in the new cabs!!! Rounded hoods, rounded windows ... really make a huge difference! :thumbsup:

That price seems high to me. I ordered a M7040 last week. Cab, 4 x 4, 1153 loader, cast weights, Horst 9' power angle plow, Radtech 87 blower, and a set of ice chains for the rear and of course the sat radio. I was just under the $54000

ya.. actually $55300 after freight and setup that's list price... not what I'm paying... as I indicated I haven't actually inked the deal... but his first offer is quite reasonable with the options I have indicated...

New M7040 4x4, Cab, M20 loader w/72" Bucket ($1500 More Loader than the 1153), 3rd Function ($750 option), Stereo ($300 option), Cast Weights, Loaded Tires, Radials front and rear not bias ply, (Upsized front tires 12.4-24 R1 $500 option)

Right now I'm in around $51000CAD, I will let you know what I get it for once I ink the deal!
But it sounds to me you got a great deal r4kh!!!

I'm also having the weights installed inside the rear tires.. gives me 2" additional width per side for a better footprint given that I do have some rolling terrain!
