All you can do is raise the pressure on the relief valve...
Just don't overload your front axle...
I don't know what it's capacity is...
I've got a feeling that if the bales are really tight you may not be able to lift them even after adjusting your pressure...
You may need to bite the bullet and get a 3 pt rear fork for those heavier bales...
I know that it is not the best solution but you may have to do it to just get by this year...

As far as pressure goes, Unless you put a hyd gage on it you won't know.

First you have to know the pumps max limits operating pressure.

Push or pull the cyl to max and read the pressure.

If the pump pressure is low, then shim it or adjust the relief pressure to about 50 to 100 psi below the pumps max pressure.

I would recommend installing a hyd gage in a tee at the IN port on the FEL valve. Then you can monitor, adjust, and know what the hyd system is doing.

You could also have a weak pump, leaking cyl seals, leaking valve, dirt in relief valve, etc. A 3000 psi hyd gage will help you solve most of your hyd problems.

The gage alone should cost about $12 to $20.

10-4..good idea there. ive got a guage and fittings to pipe it in permanently actually. ill do that.

where can i get the pump info? off the pump or is it internal. i havent looked yet at the tractor. doin a bit of homework first. i dont wanna tear it up or kill myself rolling it over or something..
i know this isnt the thing to do but im just needing to get by in a pinch for a cpl months

thanks guys

What loader do you have on your machone the MF 1246 or an aftermarket?

Be sure to add ballast to the rear of the tractor if you haven't already. It's gonna be real tippy with those heavy bales.

Memory tells me 2300psi pump pressure. You should check after the loader valve & before to see if it's the loader valve relief or the tractor pump relief.

Gary ... are you using a spear mounted in the bucket or a QA spear? Just asking cause if your using one mounted to the bucket you will loose a bit of lift.

it is the bucket mt'd one. i think the loss is the distance from the pivot. i may try to adapt it to the 3 pt but then ill need to take the bushhog off and thats my rear ballast for the fel...

i guess its jsut too dang small for what i need really and i cant afford a bigger machine right now

and to top it off the feral hogs are destroying my pasture which means ill be using more hay than ever'

Someone said this on another forum about the BX-2200.

[ The BX hydraulic system pressure it set too low (1850 psi), it should be at least 2000 psi which would give the loader more power(it could also use larger lift cylinders. ]

The specs say your breakout force is only 950 lbs.

are using a spear on front of bucket andyou say you are almost there in lift capability

I guarantee that if you drop the bucket which is several hundred lbs and use a quick attached spear which moves the bale at least a foot closer to the pivot point, then you will solve your problem, become happier with the tractor...at less cost than a hydraulic rear three point bale lift. Give it a try:)
