Kubota MX5100HST
Hello

We live in Marblemount, Washington along the Skagit River. We came here from Maine, but are getting ready to return to Maine.

In 2009 we bought 113 acres in Southern Maine. We are trying to make our return "debt free" . Whether we can pull that off remains to be seen. We spend 4 - 6 weeks on the property each summer and do what we can.

The driveway is 3/4 of a mile. With our short time in Maine each year we've chosen to have the driveway built for us. With pay-as-we-go in mind, we have an affordable section built each year.

We will be off-grid. We have an array of 9, 210 watt solar panels and a 17.5 KWH battery bank. Our house will be underground, with a spectacular southern view (photo attached.)

The tractor I learned on was a 9N. I've also used the old Johnny Poppers. I was a little bewildered when I started looking at tractors for the Maine property. Tractors have changed. Tractor by net is one of the places I found that helped me get up to speed.

This past summer (2011) we bought a Kubota MX5100HST.

Welcome to the list. I also have a MX5100 HST. If you acquire a loader for your MX I highly recommend the quick attach, loader guide rod, with the HD roundback bucket with a toothbar. It is a good value tractor with a lot of power for its size. I have found that it is very effectively applied power as well. Good luck on your project and move.

This makes me smile. The first tractor I used was a G. Around this area they were known as "poppin' Johnnys".

Welcome aboard!

Thanks - nice to get some reinforcement on our choice!
