Yup, he ate the whole thing, took a bit of wiggling to get it all down.

Here's one of the later shots - he kind of had to stand up and stretch his neck up to swallow.

Here's some mergansers from my front yard, I thought they all looked like this.
These are Hooded mergansers.

This photo is a year earlier so I'm hoping these two will be back this year.

this is a coopers hawk, sharpshin's are rare here. Also from my front yard....

thanks, i like the way the hen looks as though she mad at the drake and wants him off her log as he stares off trying figure out what he did to make her mad this time.
