My Dodge Hemi was 12mpg. So its right in the middle.
The RAM your supposedly had was also a 3/4 ton, so nice of you to leave that out of the fuel mileage comparison vs your other 1/2 ton trucks. I have averaged 15 mpg in my quad cab 4x4 1500 HEMI 3.73 rear for over 110k miles and make much more power.
I can plain stomp all over most everything gas when pulling hills.
This is such a load of crap. The only truck I would believe you "stomp" is that 5.3l Chevy but you also are making as much or more power AND have LOWER gearing (numerically higher). What's next on the stomping ground, a Chevy Colorado 5 cyl towing 5k lbs with a 3.23 rear?

Context is in order, and I belive DMACE provided it. :D

All in good fun...

I drive a 08 titian two wheel drive with tow package and I use it to pull my 4105 jd.
I am in construction and I carry 500lbs of tools around and still get 15.5 to 16. It still drives they same as the day drove it off the lot just turned over 94000. Just recently put bullydog programer on it at 92000 that thing made a real beast it will spin side ways even with all that weight.

Mine has averaged right at 14.3 mpg tank to tank. Best on the highway, 500 miles, was just shy of 18 mpg at 75 mph. I did not buy it for economy, I bought if for its great 4x4 capabilities and towing.

I can find something I like in just about every truck. But what I don't understand is how you can go from towing with a diesel then back to a gasser. Iirc DP, you had a ford diesel to pull boats with as well?

I had a 97 dodge 1500 with the 360 and I did a fair share of pulling with it. Now I drive an 04 2500 dmax. There's no way I wanna tow with a gasser ever again. Just seems you have to run the snot out of them to get anywhere. Just wondering. Not trying to pick a fight.

You can call that Dodge 3/4 ton and my Titan what you want but go back and look at how big a Titan is. Its bigger then a F-150 and the same size as the F-350 SRW truck in this pic I posted. I am sure it is every big and heavy as my 3/4 ton Ram was.

Chris

Lost me on this one...It's a full size truck. The differences tend to be inches of varience in cab and hood length if the truck styles are equal...My GMC is the nearly the same size as my BIL's F150, and my neighbor's 3/4 ton Dodge CTD (his does sit about 2 foot higher though)

It's also similar to an x-cab shortbed Titan that a girl at work drives.

Physical size is not the only thing that would contribute to poor fuel mileage, that RAM is probably a good 1500 lbs heavier, has a heavier running gear and lower transmission gearing as well.
Nissan Titan curb weight: 4800-5200 lbs
Dodge Ram 2500 curb weight: 5900-7400 lbs
Put 1500 lbs in the back of that Titan and see how your fuel mileage is.

By the way, if you want to see some real stomping just read the latest Pickuptruck.com $30k truck comparison where the RAM Hemi stomped the Titan in every performance category yet returned better fuel mileage and almost 100 hp more. You can tell all the stories you want about beating other trucks but the truth is your just making it up. Look at the real numbers from real test if you need.
Watch the video to see the RAM "stomping" the Titan in a 1/4 mile drag as well.

Side note: That coil rear suspension in the RAM that everyone thinks should stay in cars made the RAM handle payload better and faster in a road course than empty. With a 1,000lb payload, the RAM beat ALL of the other trucks' times even when they were EMPTY. Put a coil sprung suspension in these vans too! Smooth empty ride and better loaded handling as well.

My ex FIL told me to never argue with a idiot, they will beat you up and down with their years of experience.

These vans are getting very popular here. Good power, tow ratings, and price point. Big hvac company has about a dozen, police have a few, Enterprise Rentals, ect.

Only 1/2 ton that holds a candle to the Titan is the F150 3.5 Eco Boost and the 5.7 Tundra. Dodge and GM are so far behind they think they are leading. LOL

Chris.

One more point Chris that I believe puts a hole thru your statement. In your comparisons, you routinely pick on GMs 5.3 when comparing it to the top of the line engines from other manufacturers such as the Titan and the TT V6 from Ford. The 5.3 is not the top of the line engine from GM. The 6.2 is. Compare apples to apples and you may find the gap is non existent. The 6.2 is very comparable if not stronger than the top gas offerings from the other manufacturers. I believe timswi has one and has had high praise for it.
