New Kubota Factory

That is GM, or at least that is how it is in the Ft Wayne plant

Your comment and the others jives with what i remember.

Heres another jewel. I know of a Ford dealership that went as far as FIRING employees that refused to drive ford.

He didnt come out and say "Your fired for not driving Ford" but looked for other ways to get rid of the mechanics.

Id imagine that firing someone because of the car they drive would get you brought up before the labour relations board, so im sure he had other "valid" reasons, but the truth is he thought it "looked bad" for other brands to be parked on the lot.

They aren't all bad but a lot are. I've witnessed that close up and personal at break time at the Jeep Plant on Stickney Avenue in Toledo. Mad dash to the car to toss downa brew and smoke up the interior, a telltale sign is closed windows in the summer.......:D

Tell us, how many auto plants in Idaho? At least unionized ones.....

Are potato pickers unionized???

i didnt always work/live in idaho. I have friends that worked and currently work union jobs in Washington, firms like Boeing , and others that worked for GM. There all respectable hard working people, and i feel that saying all Union people are dope smoking lazy sacks isnt right.

I was Union electrician in Wash state, and we worked our butts off. It was our goal to work HARDER than the non union shops. Slackers were sent hiking.

I want to unionize potato pickers... so we can label all potatoes "Union Made"

hehe

What happened to the OP title "new kubota factory"

Up North in Canada we welcome any jobs if it will get people working and being productive!

We have many lower paying wear house jobs in the area but the tax revenue for the city and corresponding increased commerce benefits all!

Went to a New Holland dealer today and he told me not to buy a NH tractor but his other brand,a Kioti. How about that. He said he has sold only 10 NH brand tractors since 2009 cause of the LS switch. So I am now choosing to go with A JD 3720, MS 1643, Kioti DK40SE or Kubota 4400 HST. What do you guys think. I need something I will have for the next 20 years or so. Sorry Messick, I should not high jack your thread. Won't happen again.... sorry

Funny you should mention this - I was at a NH dealer this past week and they had a lot of orange on the lot?? I was there looking at flail mowers - not tractors since I had just come from my Kubota dealer down the street. After I got my flail mower info, I asked about the new lineup sitting outside - Kioti and he mentioned that the small NH tractors are being discontinued and that Kioti bought the NH factory and will be doing production there - saving the jobs that were going to be lost due to the shutdown apparently. Good news in this economy.

That is good news, so is the kubota plant. I hated to see the Ford brand go away. The old Shibaura tractors were great. My 1910 is over 30 years old and has had very few issues. I can't compain about my L3400 either, it's been great.

If Kioti is like Hyundai they may give Kubota and Deere a run for their money in the CUT area. I see an awful lot of Hyundai's on the road. The people I know that have them are quite happy too. I wonder if Kioti will come out with a long warranty period like Hyundai, or maybe they do already.

I think the new S. Korean tractor taking the market like Hyundai did with cars is LS not Kioti. They are giving Kubota a run for quality, fit, finish and price. They are what Kubota was in the 1970's. I hear people say you are paying extra for the orange paint. Funny how things change.

Same here, we would love to have jobs in my area; ANY new manufacturing plant would be welcome.

Good turn for the better :D

Kioti currently builds CUT's for Bobcat, wonder how their increased production here in N America will effect that deal?

Good for Kubota and good for those folks down south, I am sure the wages are good for the area and the chances to grow with the company are excellent.
Work hard, stay clean, don't badmouth any workers or bosses, and put pride in your work, don't think about what they can do for you, but how you can help your company succeed and the rest will fall into place!

Merry Christmas to all those that landed a job there, I am happy for all of you!

Thats right. And thats the way it should be.
Wish someone would put a factory in our area.
