Sounds like you agree that the bailout was Obamas political payback to the UAW.

I don't understand why people insist on trying to punish GM/Chrysler for taking bailout money when the real purpose of the bailout was to pay off the UAW and give them government money to support Obama in 2012.

Anyone who did not like the bailout should be taking action against Obama not GM/Chrysler. But I guess it's more fun to bash a brand you don't like than to put the blame where it should be?

Get rid of Obama in 2012 and demand Congress stop the bailouts across the board.

Who owns GM? The government and the UAW. So IMO I am taking it out on both by not buying.

If we buy then we are saying either I don't care, or I support what was done.

I will say it again, if this were just loans to keep GM going and they made real change and had to payback everyone. No one would care. This wasn't, this was a political payback and the UAW seems to have come out ahead.

It would be so pleasant if there could ever be a discussion regarding a Chev or GMC vehicle, without the incessant rehashing of the same old opinions, from the same players, stated over and over and over.

If you don't want to buy a GM vehicle - then don't. Why do you feel such a need to spoil a thread for others who happen to feel differently? Sounds like many of the more vocal whiners have not purchased a new vehicle in years anyway.

For everyone of you who has your favorite story about how a 1979 ck1500 was the worst vehicle you ever owned I'm sure there are just as many with a story about a Ford or Dodge or even a Tundra.

If UAW is the boogeyman, why just pick on GM? Why would you consider purchasing any vehicle made in a UAW plant?

There are other threads on this board where "Buy American" is the buzz and sentiment. What is much more American than GM / Ford / Chrysler? Let's not buy from GM because of the UAW and Obama. We'd be better off if GM had failed. Is that the kind of thinking that is going to strengthen the economy and the country?

It is truly amazing that some of you have such insight, you can tell the rest of us, as if it were fact, what would or would not have happened if GM / Chrysler had been allowed to fail.

Some of you need to give your heads a shake and take a good dose of reality in the morning. Do you honestly think the US can survive without manufacturing? Do you think 350M people can survive based on a service economy?
