They are from Monroe as well. Let me tell you they cost a lot more than a pretty penny.

I don't know how I missed seeing them. I was sunk into getting the specs on my flatbed correct. I wanted my 5th wheel RV to ride perfectly level so getting the bed height where I wanted it w the B&M Quick Hitch was my main focus at the time.

That's one place you got me - I'm too tall to tow a fifth wheel/gooseneck. I wanted 4x4 though.

was yours a factory order? box and all the goodies. :)

About 90% of that truck was aftermarket by Monroe. From the rims and bigger tires new grill, seats, pickup bed, smokestacks. Just about everything. I dealt with them directly. Really good people. I would highly recommend their services.

For sure. They do really good work and how fast all that got shut down I'm sure try have some left over beds and such. The pick up bed would be iffy if they have - believe its his an old 3500 box though - but they will have everything else.

Want to pull a 5th wheel with your truck? Check this thread out. Hitch Buddy Tow Dolly Took me a min to find a pic of one but saw one in Florida at an RV resort. The guy had a golf cart in the bed of his truck and was using this setup.

MartianTractorMan and Topkicker.....could I get you to give us approximately what kind of fuel mileage you get with the 2wd and 4X4?

I was looking at both and was curious on the MPG on them

I was getting around 13mpg average. I either had a load on the bed, pulling something heavy, or both.

Going by your links Ford got a loan under a DOE program, which several other auto companies got including GM and Toyota. I already knew about this, the program was started before the bailouts. That isn't a bailout, as I said before if it was loans to GM, no one would care. Ford didn't walk away from it's debt, GM did. That is the part that has many people including myself upset at GM. GM was treated different than any company in the history of our country. They were allowed to walk away with very little in terms of sacrifice. The people who made the sacrifice were the stock holders and the people who held GM's bonds and of course the US tax payer.

As I said before GM should have been auctioned off and the bond holders at least should have been covered. Instead the government did something it has never done before.

Now we want to change the meaning of bailout, or to lump loans into bailout? Kinda like "It depends on what the meaning of the words 'is' is".

Would you agree that the auto co bailout to GM and Chrysler was really a political payoff to the UAW? How much stock in he 'new GM' did the UAW wind up with?
