Got my Fred Cain Subsoiler yesterday and installed it last night. There were no instructions but it was pretty simple to put together based on the picture online. Here is a pic of it on my CK27.
I did a trial run today and i was impressed this tractor had no problems pulling it.
Because there was no instructions I am not sure on how to adjust the top link. The way it is now when the arms are lowered the main blade is about 90 degrees to the ground. I am kinda thinking I need a longer top link. ????

Watched it 100 times James. :)
They don't really talk about setup but it's a great vid. One thing I will say, this thing is a lot beefier than I thought by watching the bid. It's a brute.

yep it looks like a useful item. Around my place there is not much use for one. and we have limestone shelf rock for dirt.. Yes there is dirt on top, and pretty good dirt too, but it is not very deep. About 1 foot. max. And in a lot of places the old shelf rock is sticking out. I am thinking if the main beam of the subsoiler is at 90 degrees to the ground and it is going down deep enough as designed then you are good to go.. I have no practical experience with one, but it would seem logical.

pickeringchris....it looks like to me that you need to shorten your top link quite a bit....not get a longer one.

Yep shorten it up get the shaft vertical, Maybe a tad pointing forward if you have hard soil so it pulls itself in.

The main beam of the subsoiler should be running perfectly vertical when at operating depth. Adjust this with your toplink. Ken Sweet

Shorten the top link, the back of the tool should be straight up and down.

This is very deceiving. The first pic is Ted from everything attachments setup. The second pic is mine, the same set up as my first pic only I have lowered it down.
My third pic is after I lengthened the top link more. This pic looks just like the way Ted has his set up.
