That F250 they slso ordered will not last long. Its a good looking truck just like your F350.

I find the integrated key/remote fob is a PITA.

The key doesn't fit in my pocket comfortably with other keys on the same ring. I liked the key and remote as separate pieces. I don't carry a lot of keys, 5 including the truck key, but it's this one key which is almost 4 inches long that is a pain.

I absolutely agree on the USB pots, there should be more. My 2011 Chev 2500 only has one.

The key deal though....why not just carry it by itself? Thats what I do with the key o my 2008 Taurus. Works real good.I like it better just by itself.

Yeah, I see it all the time... There's a vocal minority(aka whiners) who badmouth a brand. Look, I'm no koolaid drinking robot, but I have real world experience. I've recently had a ford 6.4 diesel(really liked it) and a new 2011 6.7 diesel(love it). F the forums, I'll tell you how it really is.

That would help but I know me. I would end up leaving that single key behind somewhere or leaving the balance of my keys somewhere and trying to retrace my steps to locate them.

My daughter bought a VW Jetta with a key which folds up like a pocket knife. I thought that was a good idea. Keys seem so outdated anyway, I can use the keypad on the drivers door to open the vehicle, just another small step to start it by the same method and do away with keys altogether or make them the secondary access method.

If the drivers information display, that 4.2" screen on the dash between the tach and the speedo can show me what gear I'm in when the tranny is in Manual, why not show the current gear all the time? Wouldn't it be nice to know what gear the tranny is in at any given time while driving just as a point of information?

The same display could be used to graph vehicle speed along with the gears and engine rpm. You could see how the tranny reacts and shifts with various loads.

Also why can't the computer figure out that it doesn't always need first when starting from a dead stop when there is no trailer connected or no load in the bed? I would think that for mild acceleration with no load other than a couple passengers that second gear could be used and the computer could be smart enough to figure that out.

Why can't it also send a report to your iPhone so you can review the data in more detail later? That way you could cross reference other charts and determine how to optimize. Those computers are fantastic but totally under utilized.

Just FYI, it sounds like I've got the identical truck as you. The screen will show you what gear you're in. Put the truck in drive, and tap the + on the shifter. After that, the gear will always be displayed. Tap the - button to make the gear indicator disappear.

You can also tap the "-" to limit the top gear or force a downshift when in "D".

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Didn't read anything about that in the manual and didn't see it anywhere else.

Not sure about the pickups, but the F450-F550 C&C trucks always display the actual gear even in auto mode, without tapping the +/- button... They did not come from the factory that way, but thru the numerous software updates we've been thru, that function has been incorporated.
I would think the dealer could change that option with a dealer service tool if you cannot option it yourself..
