I agree, I keep the manuals separately in the file cabinent. I would leave it off, but the three bolts that hold it on are tack welded on the head from the bottom. :) So on she stays.

I will get some pictures with it in use. It's exciting getting new implements!

A top-n-tilt would be very nice for this setup! I wish we did enough blading to justify it - No big deal though, it works awesome for what we need it for!

Just some food for thought, if you already have the remotes, the cost for a complete top and tilt set for your John Deere would run $575 + shipping. You may find that you want-need a set in the future. ;)

Great implement; too bad I don't live close enough to try it out, as I might find I need one also.

The gripe I have with the tubular manual cases are that it curls the manuals up making them a pain to read.

Just remember you have more horsepower than that blade was designed for. I pulled a "heavy" cat 1 blade apart with my 4520. I wound up going with a cat1/cat 2 for the replacement. I was (am, will be) doing terracing and roadbuilding which produces high stress on the blade mount.

Just a heads up on the amount of power you have with a 4520.

have fun, stay safe

No worries, we don't do any real serious work with this blade. All we use it for is leveling our gravel driveway and snow removal. Even with this work we still take it easy.

Thanks for the heads up though - What blade would you recommend for this model? It was our understanding that this was the heaviest Frontier blade you could get in the cat. 1 category. Maybe we overlooked some?

Not a Frontier, but this Land Pride RBT35 series would have been a perfect match for your tractor.

I just double checked compatible equipment for the Frontier RB2184H.

Deere says they would even reccommend it on 5075m & 5083e models. Why would you think that a 4520 would have more power than what was suited for this blade?

My guess would be real world experience. I know that it has cost me close to $2000 in bent up mangled implements that the dealer had said would be fine with my tractor that were not. We learn from experience and some of us pass that knowledge on. Another thing that I think is wrong about how these implements get rated. Many manufacturers rate by horse power when they should be rating by tractor weight. Horse power is worthless without some weight to get it to the ground when it comes to ground working implements.

If a person was to WORK that blade behind a 5075M, I would give it less than a day before it had some sort of damage done to it.

All of my comments are based on experience, others will vary.
