I came for the info. I stayed for the entertainment.

That would make a great signature line for you...since it would apply to a lot of threads!

I have been sitting here, trying to think of a full service station in the state of Missouri or Arkansas and I can't think of one. There may be some, but I don't know where they are. They were around maybe 20- 25 years ago. You learn something new everyday!

My solution is as follows:

1. remove cap from damaged can.
2. insert hose and remove liquid.
3 remove suction hose and replace cap on damaged can.
4. Lower tailgate on pickup truck and place can on tailgate.
5. Start truck, turn up radio, drive reasonably fast not looking back.
6. head to local hardware store, give them $6.35, problem solved!

sorry, i couldn't resist myself . . .John

Agree...when to fill the can costs $15-$20 buying a can is a minor expense. Wish I could find a link to that comic strip where the parents told their kid they got him a graduation present. They tell him:

"It's bright red, full of gas, and in the driveway..."

So the kid rushes outside to find a full can of gasoline....

How big a can are you buying for 6.35? A gallon at the local walmart runs 15+. You're looking at 30 bucks by the time you buy the can, figure in labor to modify said can so you can pour more than a gallon in ten minutes, and several rolls of towels to wipe up the mess from non flexible spout and leaking seal.
