I think you can use either access. I use the one on top of the valve cover with a long tube funnel because it is the easiest to get at. (have a BX2660)

Yup. After putting in one quart through side port, there was not enough oil to hit the bottom of the dip stick. I put the other three quarts (well, just a bit less) in from the top oil port on the valve cover. The dip stick now reads full.

I just wanted to make sure I did not contaminate the transmission fluid which I have only added at the rear of the tractor (I didn't think there was another place to fll the trans fluid).

Thanks
Dennis

That would be great!! I'll use the top one from now on, but I wanted to make sure I did not contaminate one of the other tractor fluids.

on most small kubota engines there is a oil filler cap on both sides of engine ,its there because these engines are installed in all kinds of machines, I know my bx25 had two oil filler caps, a picture would help

TBN is great. I had no idea my BX2660 has two OIL ports; when I last changed the oil I just put new oil into the only port I found. Now I know there are two of them.
Thanks.

Now if I can just figure out how to put in my block heater .. I'd be all set. Unfortunately, it looks like it has to go in the engine block right behind the muffler and without taking that whole assembly off, there is not enough room to pry out the freeze plug.
