4105 question

Tractor looks to be in nice condition but I wouldn't pay much for that bushhog, I would much rather have a better model. Looks pretty flimsy.

Yeah, the bush hog is an afterthought. It's included in the price of the tractor. I plan on getting a 6ft anyway as I'm only cutting grass/weeds.

I do think the tractor must be a 2008 thought. JDs website says they started making them in 2008. Maybe the guy bought it in late 2007?

2011 units have a one piece hood making the need for a flip down style hood guard a requirement. Earlier units had multi-piece hood and the hood guard did not swivel down.

I settled on a good price for the tractor. It is going to a JD dealer today for a basic pre-purchase inspection. If all goes well I should have it here today or tomorrow.

2011 units have a one piece hood making the need for a flip down style hood guard a requirement. Earlier units had multi-piece hood and the hood guard did not swivel down.

I put a grill from 3720 on my 2011 4105.
It bolted right up had to weld new stop.

It checked out fine except for a problem with the tachometer. It didn't work yesterday right away, then seemed fine. The dealer noticed too so they are going to diagnose it tomorrow. Hopefully something simple. The missing plug was a nonissue and is fixed.

Good news. A tachometer with that new/low hour of a tractor won't be much of an issue. All it does is read the hours so I'd be more concerned on a 20 year old machine wondering if it had 1,000 or 10,000 hours, that low though I don't see that as a worry. Hopefully you can get something done soon!:thumbsup:
