If it's stumbling as bad as you say it is then there is very likely something wrong with the glow plug circuit. Salesmen are just that- NOT mechanics in most cases, so don't worry about things like: 'All Kiotis smoke', NO they don't!
Check the firewall relay connection, use the test light to check the time on circuit and if still smoking like a chimney on start get the dealer to properly service it for you.
