Millcreek manure spreader?

I am thinking about buying a Millcreek 37+ manure spreader. I have not seen one yet, the nearest dealer is about 120 miles away. He has one in stock. From what I have seen from pics they seem to be pretty good units. They have poly floors, and the inside is coated with spray in bed liner. I have composted manure from my horses to deal with. I figured if I was spending the money to put it in, I might as well get some use out of what comes out.

Does anyone have one of these or a similar one that they can comment on.(good, bad or ugly)

I have seen the mill creek spreaders at the aqh congress displays seem pretty well made for a mini spreader.

i use a old ground drive jd model L that works for me. after having a ground drive if i ever change i would rather have a small pto unit instead of ground drive.

I would love to find an old one to fix and use. The problem is the ones around here are rusted to nothing. I want a ground drive so I can load it with tractor and pull it with ATV.

Thats what I do but i have to be careful as the spreader can overload the atv(honda rubicon) Wet manure is heavy......

I use an 80 bushel Pequea, PTO driven. I paid $3,000 for it and also use it to spread composted horse manure. I think you will prefer a PTO drive instead of ground. More flexibility in how and when you through the manure. Having to be moving to throw poop can be a pain. I drive a Kubota L3940. Millcreek is a good brand, but I would suggest something a bit bigger and PTO drive.

I purchased the smaller model 15 about two years ago and it still looks brand new with a lot of use. I prefer the ground drive so I can pull the speader with my garden tractor and not have to unhook from my tractor to load it from my horse manual pile. I really like the dolly wheel jack for ease in hooking/unhooking. The two levers are easy to work while still sitting on the seat. You do have to get off the tractor to raise the end gate when you are ready to start speading.

I ordered mine directly from Millcreek via their contact page and they delivered it from Lancaster County, PA to my house in southern Maryland.

That is the reason I want a ground drive also. I am glad to hear yours is holding up well.I guess they make a quality product. I will try to go check that one out at the dealer. I may wait until the Dixie Nationals because that dealer is always set up there and he will probably have one on display. That will be around the middle of Feb. and I was planning on making a trip up there anyway.
