Interesting loader. Never saw one with so many pins. I see they had to use hoses at the bend where the bucket cylinder top ends attach.

I'd like to see pictures 1/2 raised and at full lift!

Is there something under the sheet metal piece on the center torqure tube to the left (tractor's left) of the third function quick disconnects?

Hey Island,

The reason I didn"t like the Dyna Torques in particular is because of those little "half" lugs they have. If I'm payin' the bucks for radials I want full beefy lugs like most ag radials have. Bigger lug = more life (hopefully). Plus the dealer had a low hour, less than 600 hrs.,mint 5X25 there and the Dyna Torques looked pretty hurtin'. I was not impressed.
Size wise they just looked wrong when I stood back and looked at it with the loader on. Didn't like that either.
Lastly, while playing with the loader in the dealer's sand pile they were diving like crazy, even at max pressure. I figured I'd pop one sooner than later so might as well up the load rating right then.
Here's the tractor with the original tires at the dealer and to me they look too small.

How tread (percent) do you think the 5X25 tractor had?
I need to double check the brand, but I think my 6415 has goodyears. 18.4x34 and 13.6x24 with 2500 hours they are about 70%. I was told they were originals and a 6415 is a LOT heavier than a 5X25 tractor. Maybe the 5X25 spent all it's hours on concrete?

Great info Tom. Really appreciate it!

Adding the rear fender extensions and being flush with them is exactly how I would like mine setup as well. Looks really good.

I was wondering about the speedo being off with the larger circumference tires. I had to reprogram my truck when I put on larger tires. Didn't realize the same was possible on these tractors. That's great news.

Here's a picture I found on tractorhouse.com of a 5085M with the 13.6-24 and 16.9-34 Michelins. Looks pretty good, but I'd like to go wider unless it is going to cost me an arm and a leg (the Michelin upgrade is already $3500 over what comes standard on the 5085M). If you look closely, you can see that these are indeed the Agribib tires. Btw, that particular 5085M does have triple mid and rear SVCs and deluxe cab. Asking price is $55k I believe. Low hour 2011 model, but I don't know if the loader frame will work with side exhaust. I almost went with it, but the 0% financing was hard to give up.

Now THAT looks good!

Different dealers will go to various lengths to make you happy. I simply told my salesman I did not want the Dynatorques and we had to change them.

They gave me two options:
1) go through their tire dealer to get the tires of my choice with Unverferth rims and front centers, tire dealer takes my tires and rims on trade, difference goes in the deal.

2) take the tires, rims and centers from the 6330 they had on the lot which they would then replace the rims and centers from parts and the tires from the tire dealer, take my Dynatorques on trade and the difference goes in the deal.
There was little if any resistance to my request, but it did cost me over three grand for the change. Definitely worth it to me.

One more question Tom. What top link is that and do you recall the length of the hoses? Also, what type of quick connects are on these tractors?

That's a Prince CAT 2 top link cylinder, just over two hundred from Dalton. Great service and good price too I believe.
The couplers ars ISO push/pull connect under pressure. Just shove em in and pull em out, no sleeve to pull back. You can use standard 1/2 inch ISO male tips (Pioneer) but you won't be able to connect under pressure; I think it's rare to need to do this anyway.

I'll measure my hoses and let you know.

Thank you Tom,

I do have one question, not tire related. I have decided to get the heaviest duty Woods Hyd. Boxblade and I have two choices for size: 88" or 92". I anticipate that, with the new tires, my tractor will be about the same width as Tom's 84". Which size should I choose?

I'd get the 92.

I had the same reservations about the mirrors... trees, tree branches, etc. But, after a summer and fall of using the tractor to rake, tedd, bale and plow snow --- I'm ready for the mirrors!

(The in-the-cab mirror is a joke!)

AKfish
The external mirrors have a hinge at the mount. Yes, trees will rake them around, but you just open the door and push them back into place. Well worth it.

You cant see anything with the in-cab mirror.. You just see a pretty face in it.
I don't see a pretty face in mine.
Is it broke?

The salesman told me it had been roaded a lot. I remember the back edges of the lugs were worn down at an angle.
The bigger lugs that curve in to center handle this kind of use better IMHO.

I know Goodyear/Titan have radials with full lugs; I saw them at the Case Dealer and they looked good.

Yep it's self levelling and it straightens out as you raise it so at max lift height you get considerably more vertical distance. It's also built very heavy duty.

Tom

That does look like a very HD loader! Self leveling is great. I will never get a tractor loader that doesn't have it again. Looks like a great loader though:thumbsup:

You know... there's some question regarding which loader type has the higher lift capacity - the NSL or the SL (563).

I've seen information that has stats showing the NSL with a higher load capacity and have also seen reported stats indicating that the SL is the stronger loader!

Don't know what's correct...

The SL in the 400 series has a higher load lift.

Anyone with the "straight skinny"?

Thanks.

AKfish

Can't remember how the 563 compares to Caledon Hills loader model, either.

The SL usually adds more weight (except the non mechanical kind where it just braziers the loader height and automatically adjusts the bucket) but for what I do the self leveling is a lifesaver. I have truckloads of large square bales delivered at the same time and a lot of times I move them three at a time into my barn. With SL I don't have to worry about adjusting the tilt so that I don't have the bales fall off grit or worse back onto me.

As far as which is stronger I think it really depends. As with the 4x20 JDs, the 400CX loader is actually strong and has more capacity and is SL than the 400X. But of you just added that linkage to a 400 X it would be weaker. So that all really depends on the loader IMO.
