On the "off chance", does she have a history of sleep Apnea?

No none.. Not at all and even if she did that record would be with her dr not their dr

never heard about this ten years ago now it is all the thing like Carpal tunnel.. No one had it then someone come up with it and now everyone has hand braces. Soon we will all have to sleep with apnea mask so we don't miss a breath at night


before it was always people that could not seem to wake up in the mornings that needed to be checked

Just a thought? I used to live and work in Manatee County, a neighboring County to yours. Why don't you call one of the local County Transit Systems and find out if this is concurrent with their hiring practices? Then I would set up an appointment for a Free consultation with an Attorney and see what he thinks. I agree with the other members in regards to the possible legalities. But who knows? Many businesses now, will not hire people who smoke tobacco. The Courts have ruled that this was not discrimination, because "Smokers" are not covered and protected under basic Discrimination Statues. The best of Luck. If it were me, I would pursue this matter until it took me to "the ends of the Earth".

Sleep apnea is a breathing problem associated with SLEEP. Unless they're worried about your wife falling asleep behind the wheel, I think that $6K test is useless. Maybe they think she has narcolepsy.

It's because the clinic has a deal with the sleep apnea equipment supplier. Go to a different clinic or GP.

No I think the clinic is married to the school board and the school board wants rid of drivers that they consider fat.. I see this the same as age,race or ever sex discrimination

I don't see it as the same as race or sex discrimination.

Go to a different clicnic. CDL physicals are cheap.

Depends on what you call cheap. CDL physicals here cost $100 and you have to do it every 2 years. Employer does not pay for this. NY CDL is good for 8 years. Cost to renew my combination CDL and Motorcycle license including required CDL endorsements cost about $200. Every 8 years total costs me about $600.

I renewed mine in 2010 and did not have to be tested for sleep apnea. Don't know why they are asking her to do that.

I think they are aboot $75-80 here. I don't know for sure since my ins covers it. I have to get the physical every 2 years as well but renew my CDL every 4 years now because of the H endorsement.

I say it's cheap. If you need it done get it done somewhere else likely yielding the results you want. If the second one suggests this test then maybe it is truly needed.

Me bets there is more to this story then what is being told.
