Even though they spec out the same and the 825i is way faster than the 855D I would go diesel, for the fact of it being a diesel. I think it does 30MPH? but is still faster than most. Not many of us need the stupid fast though it would be fun:D

LOL, heck, if you want to go stupid fast go for the Ranger RZR 900 or Can-Am 1000. They are around 90+ horsepower.
My 300 acres lies along over a mile of county asphalt road and my neighbors have hundreds of acres that we use. It doesn't take so long to get to a work site or hunting area on the Ranger 800.
I'd recommend NYBOB test drive all UTV's of interest and decide what is best for his particular application.

That's not stupid fast, that's scary fast. I would not ride in one of them, one wrong move and that's it - they're like a car, minus 90% of the safety features.

Thanks for all the input. I need to find out if my Deere dealer has any bench seat Gators in stock.

I did get a call back from the NH dealer and they have some bench seat Rustlers in stock to try out.

The journey continues.

The NH Rustler is not a bad machine. I test drove one last year prior to buying and liked the aluminum construction on the model I drove. It has some other pluses too but power and speed seemed anemic and the down hill braking using the brake pedal required what I felt was excessive pressure ---- just my opinion for my use. When I was looking there wasn't much info available on the internet for the Rustler --- may be better now.

Test drive the Rustler and let us know your opinion.

I am 6 ft, and my friends are taller and over 200 lbs. we have found the kioti mechrons very comfortable. I even had room in the middle floor under the dash to install a heater, and still have foot room for the middle passenger. I am partial to diesels and use it for work mostly. It seemed to be a good value. we bought 3.

Looking at the JD HPX last night on their website, it sounds like an ideal machine for me, if I can fit in it.

It has the attributes I need, mostly work machine, 4X4, can get it in a diesel and the price is better for the diesel version then say the Ranger. I know its not a Ranger, but is it a machine that would do the job I require?

Of course, still need to see if I can fit in it.

Just curious, but where and by who are the John Deere UTV's made?

I believe the HPX comes with bucket seat only. Don't know much about it, but imho anything with the Deere name on it is usually good quality with good parts and service availability ---- that's been my experience anyway.
