About 12 years ago and we live in a small house. The Grand kids were going to come for a few days and the wife asked if I would put the pistol in a safe place. Since they were getting to be around 10 years old. To this day have completly removed all out of garage no pistol.
totally striped the house looking one room at a time no pistol and still the wife says she remembers that I put it over head so g- kids wouldn't get it. But still have my other rifles in there proper places.
Working at bench and lose the pair of pliers look everywhere no pliers so go to house have a cup coffee return to shop and the pliers still beside what ever was working on.

Start the tractor and go to location the bucket is kept remove the attachment pins and remove go to hay fork and connect then load a bale of hay drive to field and tip to put in hay ring and hay spike falls with the bale. forgot to put in the retaining pins.

Life as you gets older becomes more interesting than a group of comedians trying to keep a straight face. Some one is always laughing behind there hand.

Whenever anybody asks why I have my hands in my pockets I tell them I keep them there so I know where they are when I want to use them....

Since Agnosia is a loss of ability to recognize objects, persons, sounds, shapes, or smells, maybe that's why we lose things that are right in front of our eyes...we have a form of Agnosia! :D
Things could be worse...a person could have Prosopagnosia (the ability to recognize faces) or Akinetopsia (people cannot perceive motion in their visual field, despite being able to see stationary objects without issue.). Fortunately Akinetopsia is extremely rare.

OK I just bit the bullet and bought tri-focal glasses, I couldn't find the prescription they gave me two months ago so I had to pay $5 for a reprint, lol. The safety glasses and regular styled tri-focals with a thirty percent discount came to $800. I think $ 800 because I forgot my reading glasses when I went to the store to get the prescription filled, lol. Perhaps I wont forget them if they are always on my nose. My brother who is 6 years older says just wait:laughing:

My optician said to call the Tri-focal glasses "Occupational glasses", I have to admit it doesn't sound as Old and now don't have to tilt my head to see up? They do take some getting adjusted to, especially if lenses are smaller type..No problem on old aviator-type, other than heavy on nose..

What I don't like is when I'm looking for something can't find it and my wife walks right in and there "it" is. Only thing I know for sure, if she can't find it, it was stolen!

Oh come on now....what if you forget where your fanny is.

also, you'd constantly be going around saying.... "Jeff, does this make my butt look big"

If your butt is too big maybe you need more fiber.??...lol.:D

I really hate to lend anyone a tool because by the time I notice it missing, I forget who I lent it to. And you know they won't return it until I ask. :(

Ya I hate that. Been there done that.

This happens so much to us that have a lot of specialized tools (engine build, cutters, measurement. etc). Do not look for them until needed (could be years). I finally put sticky notes on Toolboxes inside lids. Name/date /tool goes down. If I have to collect at later date, next time for request they get the sticky note and a grin. Works like a charm. Based on a tool chip system from work so machine shop always got equipment back. You would be surprised who many people become super responsible when put on paper or camera.

Recently I needed to buy a second stage propane regulator so I go to my propane supplier and the nice girl at the counter shows them to me. She must have mentioned 90 degree vs straight through at least 4-5 times. I reassured her I wanted the straight through.

I bought it and took it home. A few days later (today) I go to install it and yup... I need the 90 degree model. I hop in truck and drive by the location where my wife is cutting cedar saplings in a fence row and tell here where I am going. I pull out on th highway and notice I forgot to bring the unit I'm returning.

Turn around and drive to house, get unit, drive by wife (again) and was pleased to note she didn't look up and wonder what the senile old codger was up to now...

Installed it leak free and now wonder why it is taking so long to get the pilot to light. Sure, have to displace the air from the lines but only a total of 2-3 feet. Pilot finally lit but flame is too small to allow pilot to stay lit if I turn lose of the depressed pilot off on knob.

Generally speaking I have a pretty good memory (except for names & almost anything my wife asks me to remember  ) but last week coming out of Lowe's I couldn't find my keys. They were still in the switch with the engine running . MikeD74t

My story from "Yesterday" coming home I came in front door & dog wanted to go play in the NEW snow. so woman met me at the door took lunch box and mail, said she would meet me at the back door with the dog... So I grab my gloves back out of my pockets figuring on shoveling snow while he plays out back. huh only ONE glove; just put both of them in my coat pocket I KNOW as they were in the car console. look more check both pockets nope only one??? Sure must have fallen out between house & car. err nope must have left it in the car (get out keys & get in car & look for it.) nope not in car... hummm must have handed it to woman with lunch box. nope not there ok maybe the DOG grabbed it out of my pocket... (walking around w 1 glove on attempting to keep people from seeing me & asking if I'm impersonating Michael Jackson.) looking in coat pocket continues at each stop... no luck. finally open garage get shovel and start shoveling snow. got done and was out back pulled garage door open again and put keys back in pocket, pulled out hand and glove I been looking for after all done and getting ready to go in...

Dont you especially hate the &^%$ that says....keep looking, there always in the last spot you can think of..."

Of course their in the last spot. why would you continue searching for them after you found them burrrrr:mad:
The one that gets to my wife is when she says she can't find her glasses and I tell her to put them on and look for them .

 That was a good one!

The saying that really annoys me when I'm looking for something is somebody saying "where did you last have it ?".

Well if I knew that I wouldn't be bloody looking for it would I!?
