14 years ago my PSA jumped to 14 from 3. Biopsy showed 6 of 12 samples were highly aggressive prostate cancer. Lucky for me I got on a surgery schedule cancellation immediately. I'm one of the few who are told "cured" after 5 years. I can out-pee my dogs and write my name in the snow (Billy) although the 'y' sometimes come out lookin funny.
In one of my first exams, a nurse walked in with some forms for the doctor to complete. I turned my head to the side to see who it was.
"Oh Hi, Debby !" I said. A very special FWB I socialized with. That was in the late '70s. Remember it like it was yesterday.

A couple of hockey playing buddies of mine were not so lucky.

Between you and your Doc, there is no such thing as an uncomfortable conversation. They have seen it all. And what ever your issue is, it isn't even in their top 100. :)

Exactly. Grandfather next door was a doctor and should have written a book. Him (or woman physician) they've seen it all.

My mom was an ER nurse, she also said she could write a book.

For the record, I'm not afraid to discuss or show my issues to doc or anyone else, it's not that impressive 😅😁

Here's some intel from the other end of the stethoscope:

My daughter is a young family practice MD and gets annoyed with how often male patients make inappropriate personal comments while being examined. Same with her women coworkers. So not only have they, as other posters assure us, "seen it all before", they've also heard it all before. It's not original, it's just trite.

I visited my doctor last week for my 6 month check up. I told her that I get up often during the night to pee. She prescribed Flomax, but when I started reading some of the side effects, I decided not to take it.
It should not be used with ketoconazole, and tadalafil, both of which I use. I also read that Flomax should not be taken if you plan to have eye surgery. I plan to have cataract surgery as soon as I get on Medicare in April.

Years ago, first meeting with a new lady Dr. She enters the little room and asks if her lady Resident can observe. I had no problem with it. So, we talk a little and then she says, "here is a gown, we will step out and you can change into it, let us know when you are ready". I asked why they were stepping out since they would both see me undressed when they reenter. So, they go out, I change and they come back in. Do an exam including the finger up the ----. Then we sit again, and she take my blood pressure, she pumps the machine and takes it again. She turns to me and tells me my blood pressure is a little high. I told her "What do you expect? I am in a small room with two pretty ladies who asked me to take my clothes off." The Dr broke a smile and the Resident did not know how to react.
Coworker went in for a vasectomy. This happened to be at a teaching hospital.

Doc comes in and asks if he minded if a couple of students watched the procedure. So he gives his concent.

Then in walks 20 students

^^^^ I had a skin cancer spot removed on my shin bone, where the skin is pulled tight already with not much excess between the skin and bone.

It required a plastic surgery Doc to cut it out and stitch it up. He walked in with 2 students...

"Do you mind if one of the students does the procedure...?"

Yeah right, does that mean it's a free surgery?
