Freightliner Pulling Machine- What Can You Tell Me About It?

I have both. Airbrake and Eye. Not sure what the point of your argument is.

Airbrake can be obtained at any time, by any license class. In fact two of our drivers had their AB cert before they did their A commercial. Saved them the stress of doing everything in front of the examiner when they got their full ticket.

We are not talking aboot Canada here.

These laws are almost universal Americas wide. You can pull the legislation from any state or province and they will read verbatim. The one big exception being the minimum trailer weight for the A ticket requirement, which is >10K in most places, but not all.

Canada has an air brake endorsement, or equivalent.

US does not.

Most of canada needs a CDL for trailer over 10k alone, correct?

Most of the US does not.

Not sure how you could make an argumant that this is universal.

I think Duffster is saying is that in the US they don't print anything extra on your license if you pass the air brake tests. However, if you don't take and pass the air brake tests, then you will have a restriction noted on it that you can't drive air braked vehicles.

Is that the case in Canada?

Nope. They print every endoresment you carry on the license. How the frig would the enforcement officer know otherwise???

Are you telling me that if you required eye glasses and got caught without them, the officer wouldn't know unless he asked you?

.

I'm pretty sure that's not the case anymore. I'm not going to query every state dmv to find out though.

Sorry for the confusion. I was meaning it was you, Duffster, who was saying there is no endorsement in the US, that it would be a "Restriction" if you didn't take and pass the air brake.

There is only one state in the US that requires a CDL for trailer over 10k alone.

I know that.

That's what I have said. There is no air brake endorsement, in the US for our Canadian friends.

It's the same between LA and WI when it come to air brakes. It's part of the federal standard/minimum.

Now you are going to says LA has an combination restriction? If you don't take the combination test you would just have a class B.
