My 2cents are no. Unless you're over reving (above 2400) you're not going to hurt anything. That's what the foot throttle is for. For FEL work or moving things around I use my foot throttle pretty much exclusively. For field work I don't want the foot fatigue and use the hand throttle. Most tractors run about 2400 for a 540 rpm PTO speed.
