The MX5100 does use more fuel when run at full power BUT I noticed I been using it at 1/2 throttle most of the time and the fuel usage is close to my old L3700. Over the last 7 hrs I have used 10 gallons of fuel which is not bad at all. That time has been doing loader work, running a scraper blade on over 1/2 mile gravel lane, raking gravel, and a lot of lifting/moving stuff around. Hope that gives you an idea of my observed fuel usage.
