Addiktionally, Messicks is doing no fabrication or welding on this blower, or at least I presume they aren't..... Just replacing parts supplied by the OEM and made to the OEM's specification.....

While I would presume that Messicks has competent welders and fabricators on the staff, this unit isn't about that...at all.

Is everyone in this country a whiner?:confused2:

The chain sound is familiar to me. It happened when I used the wrong pitch chain on an attachment. Problem was caused by having two different pitch sprockets in the driveline. No matter which chain I put on there (a cement mixer main drive, it made that noise. The noise may be from too little tooth engagement with the chain and some jumping rollers.

On my other equipment with chains in the driveline (baler, NH1012 wagon, NH mower), you can not hear any chain clatter at all.

OH BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Job Opportunity!!!

Interestingly, I just has a meeting with a trailer manufacturer out your way that has an issue with their trailer frames and their engineering department is aware of the issue (as well), however, like everything in manufacturing today, engineering and real world production are two entirely different matters.....

Got a nice lunch out of it anyway.........:)

Why is it when someone doesn't accept crap quality there's always those who get on their case about it?

Because, in this case, we're not sure if it is crap quality...not sure it isn't either...which is why I suggested looking at another snow blower.

Heres the funny part, if you have bothered to read any of the countless threads or posts about this issue, its been ME sticking up for messicks the most. Thanking them plenty, infact just in this thread alone I specifically stated the burden was mainly on woods for supplying bad parts and to back off the bashing. I expect a company like woods should be able to weld a sprocket on true. And way to be a mature a hole again and attack my character, you dont know me from a hole in the ground. Wouldnt last an 8 hour day? I spent the last 8 years working 10-12 hr days running my company installing structual foundations if you need to know. Seriously, you have nothing beneficial to add to this, just go away! I wont be biting on any more of your trolling.

Sorry to see you go through this.

Sometimes it's just better to part ways and move on. Who needs this kind of stress? Life is too short..

Thank you Rockgod, and yes it is. I am sick of this myself. Whatever woods decides monday is going to be the end of it, I am frustrated beyond belief and wont be persuing it any farther. They refund me money, great. Build me a new machine, great. Tell me to deal with it because its normal, well I guess ill live with a mistake and never purchase nor reccomend a woods product again. Itll be what it is. Have a good weekend man.

Heck, an auger only spins at a mere 1-200 rpm so a tad of wobble is nothing
If they balanced statically and dynamically as well as did a alignment the price would be ridiculous.

Besides after hitting the first stone or chunk of ice all alignment and balancing would be off.

I have seen blowers with chunks missing or twisted like a pretzel and still toss white stuff.

I've been here longer than most. Over the years I have read plenty of threads where someone with a snow blower keeps breaking chains. They usually replace it and complain how the shear bolt should have broke. Usually people with the same blower will chime in and say they don't have the problem. Maybe others had the same problem as arsenix2001 is having?

So how do you adjust the chain? If you find the point at which it's tight and set it there chances are it'll be too loose causing premature wear. If you set it when it's at it's looses position it'll be too tight and you'll stretch the chain and put extra force.

If you accept it the way it is and a year or two from now you find that you can't keep chains on it then what? I would hope that if Woods washes their hands and says that's the best we can do them Messicks will take care of you. Just because it throws snow today is not a good enough reason to accept it, would you accept a car with a rod knocking because the engine still ran or a TV set with smoke coming out of it but still displayed a picture?

The car might be OK for my wife, but I draw the line at smoke in my living room.
