paper strechers are hard to find, I honestly had a customer that called the shop saying he need more "liquid Crystal" for his LCD. my tech went out and tried to be nice and tell him there was no such thing, He called me and complained and wanted the Service Manager. so I drove 10 miles, cleaned the electrical contacts on the device, charged him 42.50 for a 1/4 oz of LCD JUICE and 150 dollars for labor and travel. He was very pleased and still asks for me to come out every time. the hardest part was when i turned the ticket in to MY billing dept. they needed our cost on the juice, and part numbers, and vendor id, so my joke back fired.

reminds me of when i used to do electronic repair...
we had codes we put on tickets...
TSTU
DEU
DUI
were the most commonly used code.
the manager never blinked, but one day someone actually asked him whet they stood for.. he didn't know.. after the customer left he asked us...
DEU = Defective end user
DUI = Defective user interface
and my favorite
TSTU = Too Stupid to use
Needless to say we couldn't use those codes on repair tickets anymore. ( yes... people would bring stuff in for repair with no batteries in it.. dead batteries.. or mixed / backwards batteries, not plugged in.. etc.. etc... )

High school wood shop class, send the freshmen next door (machine shop) for a metric crescent wrench. Vice versa, for the board stretcher.
In high school some of my friends and I were mechanically inclined, as in we tinkered and worked on our own heaps (cars) to keep them running. There was this guy nobody much liked, who had asked us for help with his VW Beetle. We were walking out to the parking lot to look at it with him, and as we were walking he was telling us the symptoms it had.
We got to his car and were looking it over discussing possibilities, when my best friend knowingly established that it was an overheating problem, and that what this guy needed was new upper and lower radiator hoses. Well the rest of us triumphantly agreed and even said we would help the guy install them if he would go to the parts store and pick them up. We gave him the instructions that since it was an older car, it might be that the parts store wouldn't have them listed, and not to worry but just keep trying different stores until he found them.

A friend who works for the state uses the "ID ten T" (idiot) error or sometimes called the ID IO T error code all the time when dealing with people who did stupid things like delete their hard drive even after about 10 pop up windows warned them not to do what they were trying to do.

ok, kinda long winded but funny..
Walked in to the local welding supply house right around lunch time one day. Only person behind the counter was a woman about 30 years old.. I picked up some welding rods, new torch tip cleaner and some flints... Sat them on the counter and walked back over near the regulators.. looked around a little then asked the woman where the "No Oil" was... I quickly realized she had bit on it, so I asked if she had the small containers in the back, or if they were out of stock... told her I REALLY needed some for my regulators. She walked over by me and started looking... I grabbed one of the reguators off the shelf and pointed to the face of the gauge where it says "USE NO OIL" and told here that was what I was looking for...
When she couldnt find any, she got on the phone and called her Victor distributor.. the guy played it up!!!. He first asked her to put me on speaker phone so he could make sure of which kind I needed!!!. He then put her on hold for a few moments, by that time, the owner of the store, he dad, walked in and she proceded to tell him she was on hold with the rep. looking for some "No Oil"... He never said a thing, just walked over and hung up the phone!!!..
