Is there a "logic" on which Kubota tractors have a flat or hump floor?

Price, horsepower/size ?????????

Not sure on the B's and M's, But on the L's, the economy (00) tractors have the hump.

The GrandL's (40) have the open station (flat)

BX has hump in floor for the engine to tranny shaft.

There is different designs that allow the operator to sit lower with a hump then a flat floor. Most large humps or refered to as straddle mount are of older designs but some applications for height require it.

I'll have to look tonight. I don't think my BX24 has a hump. I think it's flat

i hate the hump floor tractors with a passion for a few reasons.getting on an off the tractor you have to step over the hump.sn your always hitting the gear shift getting on an off.an you have to reach down tween your legs to shift gears.

The older tractors like Fords, Massey, International you basically sat on top of the transmission with the shift directly in front of you. Your feet were normally on small rests about even with the bottom of the frame.

Seems like with the advent of the hydrostatic foot controlled transmission the humps went away. A few gear shift tractors still have the hump with encloses the drive line.

Straddling the hump in the Texas summertime is no fun. I prefer flat deck tractors because they are cooler to operate and easier to get on/off of them.

Depends entirely on what hump you are straddling........

If, in fact, the floor or seat based is humped is about engineering for drive train components. Thats it.

It's there for a reason...... component clearance.....:confused2:

All the large frame tractors are flat floor/flat seat pan with industry standard seat mount bosses (I know, I just changed to an air ride seat base on my M and 105.....)

I disagree with your statement. The reason one has to straddle a hump on a tractor is because it's a lower profile type tractor to access under obstructions such as trees/barns better. Flat deck tractors gets operator higher off the ground for better visibility and to get out of blowing debris such as grass or dirt(if open station with no cab). The hump is still there on a flat deck only the deck is above it.
