EGR delete on new turbo Kubota?

That system is not monintered. A plate at the intake and exhaust manifolds and plug or hose loop for the coolant at the block. Then you can remove the complete system. The concern I have is if pump timing spec. is established with the emissions in mind. I would bet emissions definately had a influence on the pump timing spec. and that you woud want to take that into consideration before doing the delete. There might be a pump timing spec. more suitable for this engine with out EGR.

If the timing is set for best emission's output then it is probably retarded a couple degrees. If the timing was advanced some then fuel useage would get better and the engine would run better under load. At least if these engines are like the diesel truck engines i've owned.
Just because:laughing:. No really, for decades the idea was to get cool clean air for more efficient combustion and better efficiency. The religion of environmentalism comes along and we start making engines less efficient with the perception that the air is cleaner. And all this is done with my dollars. I find the whole business offensive so if I can rid my engine of some of the crap I will.:thumbsup:

i agree, if i can prevent exhaust soot from being fed into my engine, i'm all for it.

Better engine longevity. Prevent intake from being plugged with soot. Cleaner engine oil. Better power and fuel economy from more efficient combustion. If you look at all the problems diesel pickup owners and VW TDI owners have had with EGR, it's a no brainer to delete it
. It just doesn't make any sense to have an efficient, diesel engine that is designed to run for several thousand hours, and then cripple it with EGR. Nox isn't the "evil" greenhouse gas, anyways. CO2 is actually much worse, but that's another debate.Yes CO2 that evil gas that is essential to the survival of the planet.:laughing:

I did a little more looking around under the hood, and the EGR system is incredibly simple. The cooler is on the left side, right under the exhaust manifold, and attaches with two bolts. Coolant line in and out of the cooler. The exhaust exits the rear of the cooler through a steel line and goes behind the engine and over to the right side, where it goes into a vacuum operated EGR valve, and then on into the intake manifold. This system would be easy to physically delete the entire thing by just putting a block off plate on the exhaust manifold and one on the intake manifold, and connecting the coolant lines together. I'm going to do a little more research into the fuel injection timing before I do anything, but I don't see any way that any engine damage would occur from doing this. If it was that sensitive, a kinked or cracked vacuum line going to the EGR valve could lead to catastrophic engine damage!:shocked: As Kuboman has already stated, just blocking off the vacuum line going to the EGR valve would prevent the valve from opening, but a complete block of the system would prevent all the nasty diesel exhaust from going back into the intake.
