yep.. the camp owner says he's had to track too many bleeding out hogs , and maybee not find them from people shooting them with 30-30 and not killing them.
IMHO.. it means they made a bad shot.. not that the cartridge was light.
since I was forced to take a 30-06 on that hunt, I ruined the ribs and one shoulder on my hog as I blew his front right quarter section out in a cross shot from a rear angle shot.
it was about a 70yd shot... the 30-30 would have dropped him , maybee without so much meat damage... (loss ).. whatever.. was the camp rules.. I guess they figured you might have a 400# boar walk out with a 3.5" shield on his neck and didn't want to take any chances of a price russian boar running off into the oods to die next week... etc..
