Are you getting much snow? They were saying a possible flurry here in N. Georgia. Haven't seen it but we do have the coldest weather we have seen coming.

We have about an inch here in the mountains of western NC. They wind was blowing like crazy earlier but its died way down. Typical winter weather ..we've had it way too easy so far.

Mark, not much, we probably got close to 2"s last night and today, but most of it it melted earlier. Sitting on 24 degrees now and will be in the teens by morning. Mike that wind was brutal here..brrrrrr.

MotorSeven - in regards to your window go to Kintner Modular Homes in PA and check out model 2 for possible window for your log house. You may want to contact them and find out if possible to purchase window from them or their manufacturer. I think it would be definitely "fill the bill" for what you are looking for.

Thanks PA, I'll check with them on Monday. I have to say that is a pretty cool looking modular. They have not really caught on yet, but modular's are usually a pretty good value and well built.

I will be spending the next few days skidding cedars off the ridge, I have enough down on the ground to mill out all the porch(s) lumber.

Those modular windows are Anderson 400 series. That size(which is what I need would be way over my budget since they are framed windows. I am going to stick with double glass/argon which is a lot cheaper. I might go to Knoxville this week and look at the salvage places there, sometimes they have big unusual windows cheap.
