Ya did good. I have a Land Pride 5' on my L3800 and it is a Very Good mower.

BTW, my mom bought a 4' King Cutter for her little Massey and it was a horrible, miserable little mower. I just recently traded it in on a used Woods mower. I would have givin that thing away, for free.

Wow, I was thinking about their 4' (XB version) that is sold at a local store. What were the issues you/she had with it?

Congratulations, we use a couple of Land Pride cutters and they are very good quality.

Your BX24 has a standard cat 1 3 pt hitch, not a limited cat 1. You don't have to use the XB series unless you just want to.

hmmm, well then I just learned something new once again.

I had the understanding, and can't remember where from, that the BX line had limited cat 1 hitches. That is, they use cat 1 hitch pin sizes, but have limitations due to their physical size and spread. Perhaps that is not the accurate definition of "limited hitch"?

I believed that I did have a limited hitch on the BX24 because I have a cat 1 KK back blade that would not fit - hitch wouldn't close onto the pins correctly because the arms would hit part of the blade frame preventing me from sliding them onto the pins. I had to have the frame cut and re-welded to allow it to fit properly.

(I've read where some implements can be used without this type of modification if you reverse the pins and use them "backwards", but that still said to me that the hitch was limited.)

Some BX models had the "limited", my 2200 did, but my 2660 doesn't, not sure when the change took place.

BX owners don't like to accept the "limited" tag on the Cat 1 three point, but the reality is that sometimes, an implement is indeed too wide and too tall for diminutive power house that is the BX.

There are simple laws of physics at work here. Yes, Kubota raised the fulcrum on the BX around 30 into the 50 series, I believe, and that helped some, but you can't make the BX wider and you sure as heck can't make it taller. It's just the way it is.

This comes from a dyed in the wool BX lover, btw.

The 50 and 60 series BXs have a Cat 1 hitch built to the standard. As I design attachments, it was important for me to know, so I actually checked and measured. If the implement was built to the standard, (many aren't) it should fit. Whether or not the BX can handle it or lift it high enough, etc. is a totally different story.
The earlier models did indeed have a Limited Cat 1.
