When we get heavy wet snow every few days, then we know it's March and Spring is just a month and a half away.

New buds on trees and grass changing from brown to green. Also more wild onions.

first sign of spring here is when the wild turkey'sstart comming the fields that means the insects are out of hibernation and the dogwwood tree's get small buds on them i just hope with all the warm weather were having our fruit trees don't get started and then get bit by frost kinda surprized this morning 16 degrees that will help keep the sap down for a little while.

The arrival of the Eastern Pheobe. The male is here now although it is early for spring. They perch on a low limb and any miller that flies up from the lawn is a dead consumed miller. They seldom miss. Also an excellent Black Widow spider deterrent from under the building eaves. I welcome them every year.

After town meeting day,frost heaves back roads posted for weight limit travel,smell of mud also tracking mud.

Purple leaf Plum flowers out. It jumped the gun last year and most froze off.
Mesquite's are holding off, some are still dropping leaves.

Birds in the trees calling for mates. Some have terrible calls, but fun to listen to. There is 1 that sits about 10' from me, I keep telling him he has a bad song and will never get a girlfriend. He stops and listens now & then, but does not change his "Song". :laughing:

Sand Cranes, except they are early this year, been hearing them for two weeks now. Maybe that ground hog was right about a early spring. No Robins yet.
