Tractor
kubota bx24
My BX 24 has problems moving in forward or reverse. Bigtime chattering noise when going up even a slight incline and finally won't go. Diesel is OK, hydraulic fluid level OK, hoe and bucket have plenty of power.
Tractor is 5 years old and in good shape.
Advice?

Good Morning Reading where your tractor chatters could this be a clutch problem.
I had a Kubota that the clutch throw out bearing rusted on the tube so the fingers kept pressure on clutch and not release the clutch. loss of power due to slippage then chatter when clutch warmed up.
Also oil on clutch facing can cause slippage and cause slippage.
Reason mention clutch area the engine sounds good. the hydralics work with out problems.
You never mentioned problems with gear shifting.
Trust this helps in locating the problem.

It doesn't sound good for the hydro. I'd get it checked at a dealer or someone with the correct hydraulic test equipment.

I agree with art-- I don't think its a DIY if you have no working knowledge of hydro tranny. Its time to take it in to the dealer so they can troubleshoot properly. Either the high/low gear teeth is gone or hydro pump is bad. either way its gonna be expensive.
BTW, which gear are in you high or low? have you tried switching the speed selection? Be careful - if the gears are stripped continuing to drive it will destroy other components with broken off fragments if that is the case.

No problems shifting. Is there a way to adjust or fix the clutch easily?

Problem the same in either gear or in forward or reverse. Hydraulic power is OK for implements. There is no dealer on this island or within 1000 miles. Perhaps there is an adjustment for the pedal that engages the wheel drive?
any other thoughts?

There is no dealer on this Caribbean island. If hydraulic pump is bad wouldn't hydraulic omplements be weak too? They are not. Any other suggestions welcome.

Agree with Art & Radioman. Stop driving it and get it serviced. I didn't, I tried getting my BX23 home but even going slow it all together just stopped moving. Pulled it home and used the BH to pull it onto my trailer. I was lucky even though it was out of warranty by a few months it got covered. If I recall it could of cost a few thousand dollars to fix mine. Also mine was in the shop for almost a month but I didn't complain hoping and being told that they were working on getting it covered under the warranty. Also while it was in the shop they also fixed my leaking front end when they saw that had cracks in the knuckles at the seals. My unit is an 05 and has over 1300 hours on it with no other major problems... maybe because I have started to take it a bit easier on it .... no not really it is because I have not been able to get much seat time.
