We were always fairly soil friendly, because with vegetables, you almost have to be. Plus, it's people's food, including my own family's food.
Three years ago, we committed to organic. It is what our customers want, plain and simple. Frankly? The soil is better, the crops are better, our production is superior, and very importantly, our profit margins are better.
This move has required a lot of reading, interviewing and research. It has been hard work and required some re-learning and innovation.
Truly? I'd never go back. No Round Up and no Seven (carbaryl) here.
