Tractor
BX2660
Got a quote from a local dealer:
  • Kubota BX2660
  • Turf Tires
  • 60" Mower
  • Front End Loader
  • Delivery

Quoted $15,330. Based on what I've read from this forum (great stuff BTW), that doesn't seem like a very good price.

What price should I be shooting for reasonably? I'm not sure what their price is...

Thanks in advance!

On the Kubota build website I got a cost of $17,603, so the quoted prices seems good to me, but maybe I missed something.

I paid $15,000 + sales tax for mine in April of 2008. That included the grill guard, turf tires, 60 in MMM and FEL ....delivered. But I didn't do any shoping around or dickering and was happy with the 0% deal. The dealer was well established and trustworth in all departments. Good Luck. Compared to the closest JD dealer the tractor, the price, the people and the service was better.

Contact Barlows and then you'll know how much you can get it for delivered to your door. If your dealers close, then go with your dealer and feel good about your price.

Just a suggestion, when we bought our second BX, we had rear wheel weights put on to aide stability on hills and when using the FEL.

Ive been doing a lil "research" on here for a couple of months and Ive seen Barlows mentioned a few times. I live in virginia near roanoke which is more than a few miles from Barlows. I would love to have a new bx25 if I could afford it..is it worth it to buy from somone that far away??

They deliver all over the US so being from Va your actually fairly close to Barlows. I think they divide the cost between the load so if there are 4 or 5 delivered on the same truck the expense is split between the 4 or5 buyers. People are buying from them all the time so it must be worth it for them. It won't take but a few minutes to find out. I bought a BX25 from them a bit over a year ago and it's my key tractor. My delivery cost was fairly cheap since I live 7 miles from their lot and my rental property is 2 miles from their lot.:D I've bought 13 from them in 9 years but I shopped all around and even Green and Blue before I bought from them. No one of any color was even close to their price and they are good ole boys just trying to make a living.:)

Thanks for the help guys. I did a little more research, and ended up taking it at the quoted price. The dealer is close, and I've heard good things, so I figure it is my best bet.

Turns out they actually have one in stock, and should get it in the next few days!

I'm going to build a ballast box to help offset the FEL.

Thanks again.

Congratulations, I believe you will be very well satisfied with and surprised by the performance and comfort of the 2660.

Digging into the recent past....

TripleR may I ask, are those the Kubota #G8100A plastic rear wheel weights? They really go on w/ just two pieces of hardware? Are you pleased
with them? Did you research them and do other make them?

THANK YOU!

I haven't seen any markings on them, but will check again to see if I can find a number on them later when we get it out to mow and let you know. No, I didn't do any research on them, I just told my dealer I preferred weights over fluid and that's what he put on. They cost $5 more than fluid.

I have never taken them off, but it looks as though you could use two more bolts; we haven't had any issues in four years.

The stability with a loader is improved over our BX2200 as well as on side hills. Neither my wife nor I have ever lifted a wheel on a side slope, but our son has with our BX2200 without weights or filled tires, but not with the BX2660. Maybe BX2200 to BX2660 is not an apples to apples comparison, but pretty close.

Artisan, just to let you know I haven't forgotten. I didn't see any markings on the weights, but will have my son double check this afternoon when he comes over to pick up his children and let you know for sure.
