Kubota Price Increase March 1

When they delivered my new tractor today, the dealer stated Kubota increased the price on the L4600 by 4% effective March 1, 2012. Said they typically do their increases in March. Was messing with my new toy and didn't ask if it affected all models or just certain ones.

I just ran into the same thing. The price increase is 4% across the board. On everything including parts. Kubota only gave the dealers one week notice of the increase.

On orders placed before March 1 the price increase does not apply. Now the dealer is saying that existing stock (pre-March 1) on the lot will also be priced to reflect the 4% increase. What?

The dealer is telling me that next year the emission regulations will require modification and additions that will increase Kubota tractor prices by 15% to 20%. YIKES! (And yes, I have a very talkative dealer.)

Guys, it looks like it is past time to become a "tractor hoarder" - at least for new. Buying used will be the only thing that makes sense. On the positive side, our used tractors will become more attractive and prices will be up.

Yesterday my dealer told me the increase varies depending on model. She was reading from her price book but I don't remember the models she mentioned. Although she said one model went up 2% and another went up 4%

I'm glad i decided to order mine a couple weeks ago. I had a dealer tell me that prices were going to increase but i wasn't sure if it was a sales tactic as i was planning on waiting a couple more months to buy.

In the past Steve Barlow sold or priced to me the old price on anything he already had on the lot and maybe what was in the pipeline on its way to him. All items ordered after the price increase he charged the new price but things change so not sure he still does it that way. Would bet he still does.

Still no to buying used per your own words. People buy new when used is about the same price as new. As you state, used prices will go up with the new prices thus the spread will be so close and I'm sure the Company sponsored low interest rates will continue until there is a major turn in the economy and then the value of a new factory warranty and knowing the treatment or not knowing the treatment of a piece of used equipment. So, as long as used prices go up with new prices, new will still often times be the better deal.

It all depends on which side you're on. If one is shopping for a used tractor, that may not seem so positive. Many used tractors are already priced so high that buying new often seems to make much more sense.

But/And this is why buying a tractor can be more than just buying a depreciating piece of equipment. Some people have bought tractors, used and properly maintained them for a reasonable number of hours per year and then sold them 10 years later and got back in dollars almost, if not as much as they paid for them.
So.............if anyone needs a tractor or maybe even if they don't need one but want one they are being a bit foolish to not go ahead and buy one now, today, no later than tomorrow and maybe buy two if there's a buy two and get a discount offer.:licking::laughing:
How many Kubotas do I own.........five (5). I'm getting richer every day, well, at least I'm building some equity, saving my back and having a good time with my Grand Kids. Also building an inheiratance for them.:thumbsup: Are any of them paid for? Yes, one and every year or two another one reaches PAID OFF!! Also helping keep Barlows in business because several people past, present and future don't want them to close so I'm doing my share to help keep them open.
