Face to face with a Coyote

You think? :D

Let's say I'm trying to remain a gentleman here and give the kid the benefit of the doubt. I don't mind someone asking questions at first to garner more info on how such a scenario can fall but I think to come to any conclusion without all the facts is premature at best and you know that never happens on this forum. Plus look at his join date and the amount of posts. There is a probability that we will never hear from him again so nothing here to get all worked up about in my mind. If he took the time to see how all of this could easily be explained that would be one thing but as he has more interest being the way he is, he can believe or disbelieve anything he wants. I couldn't care less at this point.

Statistically, bees are a lot more dangerous than coyotes. But not as much fun to tell camp fire stories about.

That rabies vaccine will hurt more than a bite. And in the pocket book for sure.... Worse still if it bites a pet that then becomes rabid and is the potential biter. This can easily happen with the bigger dogs. Dealing with a rabid animal is a frightening experience and particularly traumatic when it is a pet. When the symptoms are clear it is already too late.

Yes, there clearly was a second coyote on the grassy knoll.

You're wrong, there was only one shootin coyote. Seriously, I am not sure what you think is so improbable here. There is an organization in my state that captures coyotes and electronically tags them to study migration movements. The vet that sedates them and collars them is the vet my wife works for. We have gotten pretty keen on sightings so on that day I called my wife up at work to tell her of what came into our backyard. When the incident happened which was very close to the office, she called me to ask if I could come up and identify if this was the coyote I saw 3 hours earlier. Since the markings on this coyote were rather unique (pie bald) it was easy to know it was the same one. If you are doubting a coyote could range this far in this amount of time, they tracked another coyote last October that in a 4 month time span gps'd out to 350 miles of travel. If you are doubting my story all together without knowing the kind of person I am, there is nothing left to be said.

Interesting : I'd be interested in knowing the name of the organization and how the coyotes are captured. Care to reveal that information.

Holy Toledo, and it was piebald too?
Hey, just like Lee Harveys marksmanship, if it happened, it happened. Maybe because this event happened to you makes it seems not-unusual. But to me, the story does sound incredible.
Now, if we just had some 8 mm film of the yote, where's Zapruder when you need him?
:)
