Like Car Doc, I was hoping the question could be answered about where the components of the gearbox are made? In machine shops in the USA or in machine shops in China/Mexico? Ken Sweet
We do use world sourcing for component parts (just as GM, Ford, and other American companies) in an effort to provide a quality product that is manufactured in the US and available to the consumer at an affordable price.
As for the question about "outlet stores", we retail our products through distributors across the US. Please checkout our new website (which is new and improved but still under construction) at King Kutter Inc. - Quality Rotary Mowers and Farm Equipment to locate a dealer in your area.
Sweet, they are proud of the Italian products around here too. I could not believe some of their used prices tillers and mowers. They seem to hold up very well..
We have been selling First Choice, Phoenix and Kioti (all Sicma) for years with great customer feedback. They do cost more, however, some of our customers want the best and not the least expensive. Ken Sweet
Thanks for clearing that up for us all. We sell The Tarter Brand and the Phoenix Brand of Roto Tillers. I think we are in the same boat with you on "world sourcing" parts with the Tarter Brand, although, I don't know for sure? Tarter is saying Made in USA Like King Kutter says. If I sell a man a tiller and want to be sure it has a non China gearbox, I sell them a Phoenix brand made in Italy. Ken Sweet
If you have a customer that wants one of the brands rotary cutters that you carry, and does not want one with a China gearbox, what brand do you sell? How about one of those you have listed as Made In The USA?
We would go with the Phoenix. From what I understand, Technically, KK, Tarter, Hawkline and County Line can say made in the USA, if a set percentage is made in the USA or assembled in the USA. Sorta like the tractor mfgrs. Ken Sweet
Tremount MS is where the factory is for the BB cutters. You are right, DHE is in Red Bay, but they have a factory in Tremount.
The $99.00 is the full costs of shipping in those states. That is not an additional charge.
Next time I go to King Kutter and pick up some more tillers to help keep my $99.00 Shipping going to residence in Ky, VA, GA, LA, AR, NC, and SC, I should stop by . . .
At the risk of sounding like a moron............your statement makes no sense and can be labeled as false advertising. We do use world sourcing for component parts (just as GM, Ford, and other American companies) in an effort to provide a quality product that is manufactured in the US and available to the consumer at an affordable price.

Looks can be deceiving, be sure to ask questions and get supporing documentation..............according to the posts I've seen on here!!!!!!!I'm gonna quote myself.........Here is my theory, and I want to be proven wrong!
If you look real close at this large picture:

It looks exactly like the Chinese tiller at Agrisupply. It seems Kodiak, King Kutter, and the TSC tillers are all Chinese tillers painted and rebranded. Not one of these tillers says "MADE IN USA" on it. Now here is the good part: All these tillers have a great reputation and they perform very well! But lets not fool ourselves that we are buying US made products. OK, please prove me wrong, so we can buy a real MADE IN USA tiller!
:thumbsup:At the risk of sounding like a moron...........
Good idea...........cause the last big roll I was on was against my father............and I didn't talk to him for 7 years...........and you ain't a relative!
Keeping it honest...got it.
