John Deere Hook and Pin to SSQA

/ John Deere Hook and Pin to SSQA #11
Very nice! It looks like a Deere unit, looks very similar to mine. The handles on my QA are loose, I think the pins are worn out on mine due to lack of maintenance. I guess i will have to put in new pins on a rainy day. Nice new unit you have, it will make your 5520 much more versatile.

The only thing I don't like is the fact you loose all the JD Hook and pin set up ... everything needs to be changed.

That's what I had been saying--that I think you can get an adaptor that hooks to the JD hook and pin thing on one side and on the other side is a SSQA. This way you can retain the use of JD implements in general and also quickly attach the adaptor to use SSQA. Also no change to a self-levelling loader arrangement.
I think these can be bought, but aren't cheap, and you could probably make a set using JD BT13919 "bullet style" bucket adaptors that cost $255 a couple years ago.

I have a 541SL.
Self leveling loader on a JD 5520

I found nothing for the 541 loader, but for the 542 loader BW15611 is the SSQA carrier. It may work on your loader.

For an adapter to go from John Deere to SSQA, Washburn Farm and Home Supply 800-283-7107 sells them. Search ebay "Deere 500 adapter"

Thats what I did for the 5520 ... built it to fit the JD hook and pin and on the other side the SSQA ... I had a problem making the springs and lever's ... so my pins have holes and pins to pin the pins. It works very well ... takes about 2 minutes longer to undo it from a skid steer implement cause I have to pull the pins instead of lifting the 2 levers ... and a whole lot cheaper!!!

The 5520 will be used for the 10 bale grapple, so I leave the homemade atatchment on the grapple and use the JD Hook and Pin to hook up and unhook.

I'm pretty sure same thing. Thank you.

Did you post photos of this since I somehow missed the fact you did it that way. Sounds wonderful--how did you do it?

Thanks ... wish I could have fiqured out a way to have levers on the pins. I'll shoot a picture today of the finished project.

I did have a spring loaded "T" handle on each side for the SSQA. The spring was too much to lift the "T" handle so I cut that off and went with a drop pin. I'm sure in time I'll find the spring loaded latches and add them.
