And we have made some improvements along the way, just as ANY company does, even though the outside looks the same. We increased the amperage capacity of the IGBT modules in the PP60 in the module design after the issue wirenut experienced. Earlier models did not use IGBT modules, but rather individually soldered IGBT's. The 70 had heavier modules which could stand much more abuse. Really, they are lighter in weight now than ever, as we have been streamlining the internals but using heavier modules. Most of our circuitry has been evolving to 100% plug and play components to allow a true modular design and making long life service simple and cheap for the future

Mark;

Why is your warranty 5yrs/USA and 3yrs/Canada???

It's a different market, distribution and cost structure. They have their own independent marketing plan. They also offer different products than we do, though the bulk of them are shared. Australia is different as well, with several different products even from what we have...and they don't have some of what we have.

As fas as the warranty: A warranty is not much more than a marketing tool, when you boil it down to the very basics...though it serves the customer a very practical purpose. At its heart, warranties are offered as a marketing point in any sales plan for the company. Calculated costs to support the warranty are built into the price, and hopefully the price point at which everything combines into the final package is appealing to the customer. Certainly much of the services people expect from any company are built into the price of the product, so is the warranty.

Isn't that part of your healthcare plan? :laughing: Take it in the rear once a day? :ashamed: Then call the "doctor" in the morning... Haha, just kidding! Some of my grandparents were Canadian.

Part of it! The working stiffs need to pay for all the lazy, disabled, stupid, lazy (oh covered that already) idiots that leech the life out of our great Nation!

But I digress...

Actually, we could use a good nationwide healthcare plan, here.
But that's another subject and not about tractors. :)

Mark/Everlast, I grew up learning this lesson- make sure you call, and keep the customer's house clean. Point being- although I didn't buy an Everlast (not because of fault of Everlast, just found a Miller plasma cutter locally), I did start to get discouraged when it took a while to hear back from you. I posted a PM, and sent an email. Prompt returns of calls/emails go a long way in business.
That being said, I would have purchased an Everlast PP50 or 60, if I hadn't found the Miller. Everlast sure seems to be a good value.

So Hypertherm is the accepted standard (I think) in the industry/the guys to catch so to speak...

Having said that I too believe that Everlast is a good value as you can pick up an equally rated or above PP60 for 1/2 the price of the Hypertherm

I have read that consumables life is extended with Hypertherm and significantly shortened with Everlast (as much as 4:1) ratio

I am a home hobbiest that will be looking to do occasional cuts on 1/2"-3/4" mostly to build attachments for the b2920

Will the PP60 do the job and be reliable or should I just bite the bullet and get the Hypertherm
