I am really interested in a "Piranha" toothbar. Has anyone made a video of it working yet? Nothing on youtube yet. Show me what it can do...

Hard to believe, John, with all the Orange Paint in your yard you don't have one. I see you still have room in your yard so... , could you buy a new tractor with one on and then post the video.

I'd be interested in seeing a "Piranha" video also...
I have a couple acres that are kinda low and wet with a lot of brush and saplings in it... going at this stuff with the FEL on the ground just flattens it.
I read a previous comment on the Piranha that it would bite into this stuff and pull it out... would sure like to see that. I want to clear this area and dig a pond, and put in some ditches to drain the overflow.

Hi Everyone

There have been over 400 views in 24 hours and still no video. Someone must have one.

I ordered one, should be here early next week. I have 800sq. ft. that needs to get dug out for my paver patio. I'll post some pics, but it won't be until next weekend. I'm curious how well it will work. I have rock solid clay.

Probably too muddy to dig.

Don't have a video but the Piranha toothbar does great work on tearing out brush and sapling by the roots. It's so much fun that I have to be careful not to get in too far and mess something up on the tractor.

dennis54,

I want a tooth bar for the same reason--to pull all of the "stringers" (possibly, locust tree roots, growing through and just under the grass? Do locust trees do this?) out of the neighbor's back yard, so he can garden.

I've read that the "hot setup" is W.R. Long's "flat toothbar"--see this TBN thread (sorry, but it's GREEN):
JD 5525 now with WR Long Flat Flat Toothbar http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/john-deere-owning-operating/114767-jd-5525-now-wr-long.html

So...I wanted to know if you can do "flat backdragging" with the Piranha toothbar, as well? Because I anticipate spreading gravel and dirt, in the future, yet I still want a tooth bar--not just for the neighbor's project, but to protect the cutting edge of the bucket, as well as to maximize digging power, generally.

Thanks,

My Hoe
